           Welcome to the 24 th  Universiade Bangkok 2007 .This guidebook will serve as your detailed reference to the athletes and officials transportation service arranged with the Athletes’ Village  as the central point.

Transportation service standards

Period of transportation service

23 days,  between  August 1 – 23, 2007.

Key transportation services

Seven types of transportation services covering the MPC or various destinations will be   provided to the members of the media.

• Sufficient numbers of vehicles have been arranged to provide arrivals and departures transportation services in accordance with the arrivals and departures schedule. Vehicles may be requested by filling in the “vehicle request forms” present at transportation help desks. These forms should be submitted until 20:00, 24 hours prior to the requested service date.

• As a principle, transportation to and fro the competition venues and training facilities is provided through shuttle services which is to operate in accordance with the competition and games program.  For individual sports, transportation to the competition venues and training facilities disciplines is provided through scheduled shuttle bus services arranged accordingly to the competition and games program, while for competitions and training of team sports, vehicles shall be assigned to the teams.

• Cars complete with a driver service will be assigned to each delegation depending  on the size of the delegation to be used within the confined Universiade 2007 Bangkok area, during the period from their arrival at and their departure from the Athletes’ Village. In this regard, the Head of Delegation or his representative is required to sign the vehicle request form.

Arrivals transportation

• Transportation services will be provided between August 1 – 23 ,2007 for the route from the designated airport (Suvarnabhumi Airport) to the Athletes’ Village.
• Once participants arrive at the designated airport, they will be transported to the Athletes’Village in groups following their arrivals at the official points of entry. Security staff will be on board for participants’ safety. The distance from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the Athletes’ Village is 75 kilometers, and it takes roughly 1.15 hours to travel between the point.
• Shuttle bus services within the Athletes’ Village : Thammasat University, Rangsit Center : Available daily from 06:00 – 22:00 every 10 minutes between August 1 – 23 ,2007.
